The first steps to overcoming life's challenges are (1) realizing you need help and (2) reaching out for the right resources. As a marriage and family therapist, the spouse of a retired military veteran and mother of three, I have significant life experiences that allow me to understand and empathize with the challenges that my clients face. I know that communicating and discussing life's most sensitive and difficult issues can be a struggle. As your therapist, I will listen to your concerns and help you identify the skills and abilities that will allow you to succeed. I believe the journey to healing is individual and the amount of commitment and effort given by each client is a determining factor toward obtaining or meeting goals.
I have a Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling from Capella University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I approach issues from a systemic perspective which considers the cultural, social and ethnic influences experienced by clients. I believe that each of my clients are truly unique and there is always a focus on their specific goals, strengths, challenges and needs.
If you are struggling in your relationship, having family challenges, or experiencing difficulty related to anxiety or depression I can assist you, your spouse and family in identifying the tools and skills needed to communicate your feelings and manage thoughts in a healthy and effective way. I work closely with my clients in learning how to navigate through conflicts and challenges with those in their lives by the use of effective listening methods.
